Graduation 2012

2 down, 1 to go!  Kenedee graduated from Shorecrest on Sunday, June 17th, Father's Day.  Kenedee claims that was her gift to Ryan.  Was a busy weekend to say the least, but I enjoyed every bit of it including all the prep work.  Just like a vacation, part of the excitment is everything leading up to it.  I wanted everything to be just perfect for her.  Now that the weekend is all over, I can admit, I'm wiped!  I think my body is trying to tell me that I'm not as young as I wish or think I am.

We had a party for her on Saturday with close family friends.  I was competing with many other graduating parties as well as Father's Day Weekend.  Lots of people were out of town for the holiday.  Our party was on the smaller side, but still enjoyed visiting with close friends.  In attendance was our neighbor Jo Matter from across the street as well as Sandra Draper who lives behind me, Melissa Barret with her boys Conner and Nicholas, the Barnes Family, the Griffard family, Tessa and Spencer, Kenedee's boyfriend David and Therese Russell.  24 all together including our family.  Was just right.  Was really hoping for nice weather.  I even set up the astro-jump (bouncy house) for the little ones, but as soon as it went up, it started to rain.  I was so upset.  Will now take days for it to dry out before we can use it.
Graduation began at 2 PM at the Comcast Events Center in Everett, just like Tessa's.   Dennis and Niki as well as David and his family weren't able to attend the graduation.  They met us at the house afterwards.  The whole extended Lassen family joined us for dinner to celebrate Kenedee's graduation.  Our dear friends the Kent and Julie Beddoe and their daughters Alyssa and Lindsey also joined us since they couldn't do the Saturday party.  We just attended their daughter Alyssa's graduation a few weeks ago and was included in their family party, so we did the same.  So far, they've made it to both Tessa and Kenedee's graduation.

I also wanted to make sure all the dad's in the room were recognized as well so I made each one a batch of their favorite type of cookies to take home.  Didn't want them to feel left out.  That day we had
